6 months of 2018 have been, and gone… I have 5 months and
1 week left of my 20’s and my 30’s are creeping around fast. Each month that
goes by this year I learn something new about myself, I face new challenges and
my life has changed a ridiculous amount in a short period of time, with many
more changes pending.
Here’s some of the things I have taken from the last 30
days.
People can be incredible. Honestly, the support I have
received from those closest to me, and people I don’t even know is
overwhelming, and amazing. I feel so honoured, humbled and grateful to have these
people in my world.
These people outweigh the ones that let you down in life.
The fake friends who use you and bin you off, then make up lies to defend their
actions. You know the kind; these people are usually really unhappy in
themselves the majority of the time.
If I could give one piece of advice from lessons learnt,
the minute a ‘friend’ starts talking distastefully about another person, with no
definitive cause – i.e that person has done nothing to personally and
intentionally hurt them - abandon ship on that friendship, because it won’t be
long before they do the same thing to you.
I opened up a lot about my personal struggles in June,
and my trouble in ‘keeping up appearances’ and the funny thing is, as soon as I
owned that sh*t – life started u-turning, in a completely unforced way.
In many ways, I am starting life over right now – in a
very literal sense. The next 2 months are going to be full of emotions as I say
goodbye to some long-term constants, and I welcome in new beginnings. I can sit
here and write a list longer than my arm of goals and intentions for the next
month, but instead I’m going to keep it simple:
Embrace the changes, keep my head above water and do the
best I can.
